Framing to finish

Where a Cheyenne remodel starts: framing, subfloor and openings

A remodel begins with what is under the finish. Their project photos show it plainly: a hallway with the subfloor exposed, a brick house with a gable opened up behind ladders, and a room framed out with trusses overhead and window openings cut in. Those are the stages a homeowner rarely sees and always depends on.

Framing sets every line that follows. Window openings have to be sized and set square before anything is hung in them, and a subfloor has to be flat before a floor goes down on it. Getting those right early is what keeps doors closing and trim meeting the way it should months later.

The first conversation is about your idea. Call Luis at (307) 757-7287 and describe what you want the house to become, and the plan is built backward from that.

Demo, structure, floors and finish in the right order

Order is most of the craft in a remodel. Demolition comes first and shows what the house is hiding. Structural work follows, then anything behind the walls, then floors and finish. Reverse that and the finish gets scarred by the trades that come after it.

Floors are a good example. Their photos include a room with the old flooring torn out, a bedroom with laminate laid and a kitchen with laminate running through it. Laminate is a floating floor, so it needs a flat, clean base underneath. The prep before the first plank goes down decides how the whole floor feels underfoot.

Finish work comes last and carries the visible result: trim, paint and the details that make a space read as complete. Their kitchen before and after shows the cabinets repainted into a bright, finished room.

Living in the house while the work goes on

Rebecca Lowe wrote that her project was completed not only on budget but also ahead of schedule, and that the crew were great and friendly to work with. A remodel only feels that way when the schedule is kept and you are told where things stand.

Lucille Norwood, who hired Luis for two jobs, said the crew worked efficiently, were courteous and considerate, and did a thorough job of clean-up. G D Wright said Luis arrived on time as scheduled and that communication and coordination were good.

If you are living through the work, ask Luis how each day will run. A clear sequence, a tidy site when the crew packs up each evening and a direct number to call at (307) 757-7287 make a remodel much easier to live beside.
