Storm doors, patio boards and stair rails after a Cheyenne wind

Wind is what finds the weak spot in a Cheyenne house. A storm door that was never hung quite square gets caught by a gust and bends its frame. Patio boards lift where the fasteners have worked loose. A stair rail that has a little play in it starts to feel looser every winter.

Judith Beach called Luis after wind damage left her back patio and storm door impossible to use. He repaired both, and she wrote that it was a professional, clean and complete job done very quickly. That is the kind of call this page is for: something that used to work and no longer does.

Stairs and handrails are the same story on the inside. The staircase in the photo above has refinished treads and a stained handrail, the sort of fix that makes a worn flight of steps feel finished again.

How Luis works through a punch list

It starts with listening. Lucille Norwood hired Luis and his team for two jobs and wrote that Luis listened to her ideas respectfully and that she felt heard. Tell him what bothers you about the house, including the small things you have stopped noticing, and he works from your words.

Quotes are on request. Brandon Starkey wrote on their site that Luis was very fair and professional and that anyone needing handyman work should contact him and ask for a quote. Call (307) 757-7287 and describe the list, and the quote follows from what is on it.

Several small fixes can be worked together. A door that sticks, a rail that wobbles and a patio board that has lifted are three separate repairs, but they sit on the same property, so lining them up as one list keeps the crew from coming and going for each one.

A clean finish and what to watch afterward

Lucille Norwood noted that the crew was courteous and considerate, worked efficiently and did a thorough job of clean-up. Sawdust, offcuts and packaging leave with the crew, so the repair is the only thing that changes in the room.

G D Wright added that Luis arrived on time as scheduled, and that communication and coordination were good. If a visit needs to move, you hear about it from Luis directly at (307) 757-7287.

After a repair, give it the first few weeks of weather. Check that a rehung door still closes cleanly in a cold snap and that a re-fastened board has not lifted in the wind. If anything has shifted, call and say so.
